Biography
Sébastien Vaudreuil is a research manager and head of business development at INNOV. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering specializing in advanced materials from Laval University and has a rich background combining applied research, industrial innovation, university teaching, and research management.
He began his career as a research engineer in industry, notably at Alcan, before going on to lead international research organizations. Throughout his career, he has worked on a variety of projects involving advanced materials, additive manufacturing (metal, plastic, and concrete), biomedical prototyping, chemical processes, and the development of renewable energy solutions integrating solar thermal energy for industrial heat and electricity production and seawater desalination. He has also worked on the development of membranes used in electrochemical energy storage. A prolific researcher, he has published more than 90 scientific articles in various fields and has (co-)supervised a dozen doctoral theses.
At INNOV, he plays a strategic role in the development of advanced materials activities, combining scientific vision, understanding of industrial challenges, and partnership building. He actively contributes to positioning the center’s expertise with companies and institutions, while supporting concrete and applicable innovation projects.
